This dataset supports Open-file Report 626, which presents groundwater level measurements and storage estimates for a region northwest of Clovis, New Mexico, based on data collected during winter 2022–2023. Water-level data was combined with mapped elevations of the base of the High Plains aquifer to estimate groundwater in storage using three independent geostatistical approaches.
Estimated storage volumes range from 304,000 to 873,000 acre-feet, with two high-confidence estimates prioritized. The dataset also includes aquifer lifetime projections based on recent drawdown trends, showing spatial variation from under 5 years to over 50 years, although actual lifetimes may be longer due to recent cessation of pumping.
