This dataset provides point locations and attributes for major reservoirs and controlled lakes across New Mexico. The data originates from the National Inventory of Dams (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 1982) and includes approximately 2,700 features.
Reservoirs listed have either a normal capacity of at least 5,000 acre-feet or a maximum capacity of at least 25,000 acre-feet, and were completed as of January 1, 1988. Each record contains spatial coordinates and selected characteristics useful for infrastructure planning, hydrologic studies, and water storage analysis.
