Hydrogeology and Water Resource Assessment - Pueblo of Picuris (OFR-596)

This dataset supports Open-file Report 596, which summarizes the hydrogeologic investigation conducted on the Pueblo of Picuris in Taos County, New Mexico. The study, carried out by the New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources from 2000 to 2004, was part of a multi-phase project evaluating groundwater and surface water resources on the reservation.

Phases 2 and 3 of the project included a well and spring inventory, water-level measurements, water quality sampling, and assessments of subsurface hydrogeology. The study also evaluated groundwater–surface water interactions and potential sources of contamination at the confluence of the Rio Pueblo de Picuris, Rio Santa Barbara, Rio Chiquito, and Chamizal Creek.
